For eight weeks over the summer, Fawley Bryant Architecture (FBA) takes on aspiring interns interested in growing their knowledge in the Architectural industry. Our interns are welcomed into a collaborative environment that nurtures their growth and provides them with opportunities to contribute to real projects.<\/p>\n

Interns note the value of teamwork and collaboration in an Architectural firm. They highlight the willingness of everyone in the office to lend a helping hand and hold each other accountable. Support from colleagues is an important lesson to learn early on, especially in such a collaborative industry. One of many lessons that will follow them throughout their future careers.<\/p>\n

FBA internships provide a sense of broadened perspective on the Architectural industry. Each day brings new insight into the necessity of meticulous focus when delivering high quality projects. The learning environment creates a space for thought-provoking challenges to promote growth and development, not just for our interns but for all our team members.<\/p>\n

Through the eyes of current FBA interns David and Max, we gain insight into the importance of teamwork, the impact of hands-on experiences with real-world projects, the emphasis on thought-provoking challenges to facilitate learning, and their excitement for personal growth and contribution to the team. FBA’s commitment to nurturing interns highlights its dedication to fostering the next generation of architects, ensuring a bright future for the industry.<\/p>\n<\/div>

In your time at FBA so far, what has been your most valuable lesson?<\/strong><\/h2><\/div>

David: <\/em>Always be prepared and to have your mind & attention focused on the small things happening between meetings & to ask questions. This will prevent mistakes further on the path with clients and helps everyone all around to teach and learn.<\/em><\/p>\n

Max: The importance of teamwork and others. No one is able to do it all on their own and everyone in the office is very willing to jump in and lend a helping hand or a fresh set of eyes!<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>

How has your time at FBA impacted your view of architecture and\/or the industry?<\/strong><\/h2><\/div>

David: <\/em>There are constantly new unique ideas\/directions for the way a project can go.<\/em><\/p>\n

Max: Every day I learn new things about this area of work and become more and more impressed with all of the work and time everyone puts into these projects in order to create the best possible product.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>

What does FBA do to facilitate your learning?<\/strong><\/h2><\/div>

David: <\/em>Being put on real projects with real intent behind the design driver. It gives me a clear view of the concept\u00a0& time of when designs should be done.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Max: Rather than simply giving me an answer, often times they force me to produce my own answer by asking more thought-provoking questions to lead me to an answer.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>

What are you most looking forward to as your internship progresses?<\/strong><\/h2><\/div>

David: <\/em>I’m looking forward to getting closer to the team & to look at how the drawings are assembled at the end. This will allow me to learn new techniques for working more efficiently at the office while also doing job site visits to see what it looks like in reality. The more exposure I can get, the more I am able to give back to Fawley Bryant.<\/em><\/p>\n
